When a sunflower has character , wearing his little hat and the hands as leaves. Way too cute.
Last week my friends and I came across a field of happiness. One of my friends confidently asked the farmer if we could take photos in his field. He kindly let us. Most of the flowers were facing the sun looking away from us, and some looked like characters with hats. Absolutely gorgeous!
Bees with love didn’t mind us being there. Covered in pollen they continued working as we took photos. “Be kind to the bees and they are kind to you,”, I always like to say. The last three sunflower images were taken on my Canon 1100D camera.
Looking at the periodic table the symbol K is for Potassium , a key element that majority of our Green plants love. To keep a plant bold and beautiful, it needs one of the key ingredients, Potassium.
Why else does your plant need Potassium?
🪴 Helps the chemical and metabolically process
🪴 Assists in photosynthesis
🪴 Generates chlorophyll
🪴 Regulated movement of water amongst cells
For the love of our plants babies, have you looked at your plants and asked them how they are, they may not talk back but they may have symptoms of a potassium deficiency.
A plant will tell you if needs potassium by;
🪴 You’re vegetables and fruits are not ripening.
🪴 The leaves at the bottom half of them plant are turning yellow
🪴 The growth of your plant have slowed or even stopped.
This Alocasia is a potassium loving plant, leaves have been turning dark purple and drooping. Another sign of potassium and magnesium deficiency.
A way to feed your plant Potassium?
Avoiding chemical fertilisers, your plant will eat up the Potassium in banana peel. So rather than throwing out you banana peel , give it to your Potassium loving plants.
What can do you with banana peel?
🍌 Banana Peel Tea
🍌 Banana Peel powder
🍌 Compost it
🍌 Apply it directly into the soil by cutting it into pieces.
Do it Yourself – Banana Peel Tea
All you need is banana peel straight off your bananas, place that peel in a jar of water with a lid. Keep it in for 7 days. Remove the peel from the jar with the tea, and tip it at the base of your plant.
Key note
It depends on the plant on how much you need to feed it potassium, it also depends on the season and the environment your plant is living in.
Hey guys, so if you are following me for my plant mum journeys, I am a beginner, as you all know I’m wishing I paid more attention to plants when my grandmother was alive. However as I did not, I’m now learning on my own. (not completely on my own I do use social media platforms to learn off other plant parents)
In the image above you can well and truly see I have gotten into propagating, some plants you can do it in water and well other prefer the soil.
My Mini Monstera
A clipping I took.
I’d like to thank the lovely Instagrammer below for giving me some advice. Attached is her Insta if you’d like to check it out.
Snake plants
A few months ago, I cut some snake plant leaves and placed them in glass jars. As you can see they were ready to pot in soil.
Next to my snake plant is Blue Chalk, these guys can be clipped and then placed straight into soil. Lucky they don’t need much water and do like the sun light.
Check out my panda plant, it’s finally got more growth spurts
What makes you feel at peace? What do you feel connected to? What is your high power?
I’ve been wanting to make a post about what I believe is my higher power, what brings peace to my inner self. No, it’s not God, although I believe myself to be quite spiritual. My high power is known as nature. Our plants.
I honestly could not tell you the name of most plants or how to look after them but I can tell you that they make me feel grounded & connected. I can breathe more, I can smile and relax. I can think about my goals and remind myself of positive affirmations, to keep me going in life.
Near my house there is a nursery, on my days off I take go on my lonesome and sit within, with the plants.
Eighty plastic puzzle pieces with beautiful floral designs on them. Eighty little puzzle pieces formed together together to make a small pot for a small plant. Perfect for a little Cactus.
Have you ever been to a place where your heart feels at peace within yourself and the world, a place where the wind blows by and the water ripples, maybe your place isn’t like that but it still keeps you at peace with the world. A place to meditate a place to remember, a place to think.
Maybe you are like me who has a place where the water flows, the wildlife sing and the wing blows. A place where the world doesn’t feel against you.
I always found this place to be my go to when I needed time feel at peace with the world. I use to come here as a kid. I would also remember the time my step father drove away, I remember watching him drive away. I know that’s a bad memory, but i was down here to spend time by myself to listen to the wind, to be a kid and play in the park, I had friends who lived near here too.
But there is a time in our lives we were the happiest and a place and we end up re visiting to remember.
I’ve finally decided to grow avacodo plants. Yay. I’m finding this hobbie involves lots of patience which is so hard for me. I’ve been told 7 years to grow, that crazy but I want to achieve something.
Started this seed a month and a week ago. Started the two smaller ones today
My friend gave me an old milk bottle for my oldest plant.
Hey everyone, I haven’t posted in a few days but hope you are all doing well. Yesterday morning was quite eventful for me after one of my birds got out.
Image of Chloe in one of the trees.
My Indian ringneck who I adopted two years ago got out. Took me two hours to get her pack, but she didn’t stop calling out to me one letting me know where she was.
I got her back and she just wanted my company.
It makes your heart beat when an animal is let loose. She’s been to the vet for check ups and wing trim because I just can’t bare to go through this again.
Do you believe in your third eye? Opening to the spirit world, allowing loved ones to communicate with you. Sometimes they send messages through dreams, smells, sound and even butterflies. I have been seeing Grandma herself as a spirit, where as I believe she has been sending messages to all of us.
After grandmas first husband passed away, my grandma met my grandfather, they became beat friends and lovers. Pa and grandma did some garden renovations to the house, they planted bottle brush trees at the front. I can’t say how many years ago this was. This week the bottle brush with white flowers has been covered in butterflies and bees, it’s amazing and can tell this brings so much joy to his heart ♥
I like to say they are a message from the spirit world as Pa says he hasn’t seen the tree like this in 40years
